We bid goodbye for the mean time on Seoul’s tall buildings and travel 90 minutes to the province for some nature adventure. Are you a fan of Janice and Jun’s love story from Endless Love Winter Sonata? My parents are certified fans (yes they watched it together on GMA) that’s why I can’t really cross this one out our itinerary despite its distance.
HOW TO GET THERE
We started travelling as early as 7:30am because it’s almost an hour and a half travel via train. The nearest station to our hotel is Line 2. From there, transfer to Jungang Line in Wangsimmi Station, go down to Sangbong Station and transfer to Kyeong Chung Line. In Kyeong Chung Line, go down in Gapyeong Station. Train fare is around KRW2,000. Outside Gapyeong Station, you’ll see the shuttle bus to the different tourist spots in the city. This 1 day bus pass costs KRW5,000 which you can also used to go to Petite France. However, only 1 bus travels every hour so please be mindful of your time.
Upon arriving, we decided to eat first since we didn’t got the chance to eat breakfast. Restaurants around Nami offer samgyeopsal (*dance emoji*). We eat somewhere near the bungee jumping and this is the best meal I ever tasted in Korea. The bibimbap is so tasty and also the beef we ordered. I’m honestly craving now again while typing this. It is a perfect combination of spicy and not and don’t even make me start in their kimchi. I ate 7!
To be able to go to Nami Island, you have two choices- by this cute ferry or by Namiseom Zip Wire. The ferry is included in the entrance fee of KRW8,000 (be sure to shoe your passport for discount). The zipline looks really fun tho but it cost KRW38,000.
Afar, you can already see that the island is filled with trees! But in the map there’s so much that you can explore and eat and do.
Of course, the Nami is famous for its trees perfectly in line giving you a walkway so romantic and beautiful. I really admired the one who plant this trees way back. It’s really hard to do a perfect shot here for people are just everywhere!! I already picked Monday expecting for lesser tourists.
Since I left in PH the one I’ll reenact Endless love with, I just directed my parents for landi shots. HAHA! And I’m actually shocked that my parents don’t mind and they’re doing what I wanted them to do. I’m really hoping to go back here someday with my endless love. #landioverload The shot with the snowmen are where Janice and Jun first kissed.
Nami Island has been one of the tourist spot in South Korea due to this two! Different places in the island has posters of what was shot in that area like where they first hold hands. Going here makes me want to watch it again.
Going deeper in Nami Island, you’ll see serenity and peace. Koreans here are just in their picnic blanket, talking about things. The trees are green and red because it’s spring. This place is said to be a prettier in autumn and winter.
We weren’t able to explore until the other side because our feet still gave up on us and we have a time to follow because we are also heading to Petite France. But this place is so gorgeous, a very peaceful place away from the city and it’s stress. I’m coming back someday with my endless love some time in autumn!
